Some suggestions for feeding your sick toddlers are as follows:
Breastfeeding- Many toddlers seek to breastfeed more than usual when they are sick. This will ensure that they get the required nutrition and also boost their immunity with their mother’s milk.
Giving plenty of fluids like soups, porridge, buttermilk, coconut water, fresh lime water or even ORS will help keep hydration of the sick child.
BRAT- bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast make up the BRAT diet.
Similarly, CRAM is a diet that consists of cereal, rice, applesauce, and milk, which can help a sick child recover faster.
These foods are easy to digest and have a better likelihood of staying down than many other foods when a child is sick.
Also, ensure that homemade and fresh food is offered. Avoid fruit juices and prepare whole fruits if the child likes them.
