Are babies at a risk of choking with Baby-led weaning?

The biggest fear of parents regarding baby-led weaning is ‘choking’. Most parents think that giving solid foods directly to their babies is not safe.

However, several studies have proven that this is not true. Regardless of the feeding method, babies have the same risk of choking.

That said, it is extremely important to go through all the instructions regarding Baby-led weaning and offer solid foods to your baby with utmost care and safety.

Never give your baby raw foods that are hard. Make sure that all the food that you are keeping on their plate is soft enough to be mashed by the baby’s gums.

Never give your baby foods labeled as ‘choking hazards’. Check and recheck the food before offering and you are good to go.
