– Do not put kajal in the eyes of the baby. This can be a source of infection.
– Do not put a finger in the mouth of the baby to clean the oral cavity of the baby. It can be a source of infection.
– Do not touch the umbilical cord of the baby. Do not apply oil or any other liquid, cream, etc. on it. If any concerns, consult your doctor.
– After the umbilical cord stump falls, do not apply anything to the umbilicus. Let it dry by itself.
– Some babies have swelled over the umbilicus after the umbilical cord stump falls. It is normal. Do not tie the baby’s stomach with a cloth etc. to reduce this umbilical swelling.
