Your child will need more calcium as they grow to support their growing bones.
One to three-year-olds needs 500 to 800 mg of calcium per day.
This could be provided to toddlers through milk and milk products, ragi porridge, lotus seeds, drumsticks (moringa), etc to name a few.
If a child is having enough vitamin D levels, then calcium is absorbed well from the diet.
The recommended daily requirement of Vitamin D in a toddler above 1 year of age is 600 IU per day.
This could be achieved through daily exposure to sunlight for at least 10-15 mins. Some dietary sources of Vitamin D are fish, fish oil, egg yolk, mushrooms, etc.
Vitamin D supplements can be given as drops after taking advice from the pediatrician.
