As it is not a disorder and a self-limiting condition, there is no need for treatment here, but to comfort the child parents can do the following things, so that child wakes up and goes back to sleep and hence the night terror could be prevented:
– Parents can adjust the bedtime and routine for bedtime for the child to avoid night terrors.
– Extra cuddles and comfort – be it rocking or feeding to make the child feel safe.
– Parents should address the stress-evoking concerns as well.
– Keep your child’s diet in check to see whether any food habits or items trigger the child.
