There are several things that parents can do to ease their child’s discomfort during and after their shots:

Breastfeeding is the best thing you can do to help your child cope with the vaccine pain.

Breastfeeding is not only effective in pain relief but also provides your child the much-needed comfort after a shot.

Touching your baby, rocking them in your arms, or hugging them will soothe your baby and offer comfort.

Distract your baby by singing to them, doing the things/acts they love or stimulating your baby by offering them their favorite toys.

Apply a cool wet cloth to the injection site to help with the pain.

Ask your Pediatrician about pain relief medicines in case it is needed. Give a prescribed dose of the same to your baby on time.

Give them lots of liquids to avoid dehydration.
