Your baby needs good amounts of energy, especially in their growth stages. Simply put, energy density is the number of calories (energy) in a specific amount of food.

Energy-dense foods have a large number of calories per serving. Energy density is determined by the proportion of macronutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates), fiber, and water.

Foods that contain large amounts of fiber and water have a lower energy density. Foods that are high in fat have a higher energy density.

Some examples of energy-dense foods are :
starchy vegetables like potatoes, thick sauces, cheese, nuts, and seeds, nut butter, butter, full-fat milk, paneer, fatty cuts of meat, etc.

Food items like sweets, deep-fried foods, French fries, pasta, crackers, chips, etc are also energy-dense, but the nutrient content of these foods is not good.

Hence, such high-sugar, high-salt, fried, and processed food items should be avoided. Prefer natural, less processed, homemade food items.
