If you’re worried that your child is always hungry, even when they have just had a feed, then don’t worry as this is not a cause for concern.

In most cases, healthy-weight babies suckle at the breasts for comfort rather than nutrition. This is called comfort nursing. Offering breast to baby for comfort is recommended as it helps you bond better with your baby.

Likewise, babies sometimes resort to cluster feedings, which is when your baby takes lots of short feeds in a few hours. It’s normal and often happens in the early days of breastfeeding.

Offering pacifiers to your infant should be avoided at all costs because they impede teething and may even cause infection.
