Arsenic is a type of heavy metal that may be found in traces in different food items. Excessive Arsenic may lead to toxicity and have harmful effects on a baby’s brain development.

Thus, avoiding arsenic in baby food is the right choice. Arsenic is found in different foods but it’s mainly in rice and rice cereals.

When cooking rice for babies, wash it thoroughly and cook it with extra water. Drain this extra water after some time to reduce arsenic levels up to 60%.

Alternatively, you can opt for multi-grain cereals, oatmeal, and other snacking options for infants.
